If you had the chance to give the city of Edmonton a nickname or slogan, what would it be? I know this idea gets revisited every once in a while, but hear me out. We are no longer labeled as, "The City of Champions," and like many others, I think this slogan no longer captures the spirit of our city. So here is my idea on a catchphrase that describes our identity.

We live in a city that gives entrepreneurs opportunities they'll never be given in bigger cities. We're a city of underdogs. A city that loves newcomers and helps them reach their full potential.

We are a community that loves new ideas.

When new ideas come to Edmonton, new ideas make many friends.

Our town has a culture that celebrates diversity. We have a culture that inspires people to be proud of who they are and where they come from. You can be you in Edmonton.

In a world filled with injustice; our city plants seeds of reconciliation. We address the past and walk towards the future. Though the challenge is great, we have a vision for peace.

We're a city that believes in progress, but more importantly, we believe in you.
