Fight Like Heaven

At some point in the movie, a bold leader will stand in front of an embattled group. They will paint a bold future and inspire the team to believe in their potential. If the scene is well written, the speech will include a brief retelling of the teams' triumphs and defeats. If this scene is well-produced, the film's score or soundtrack will transition from minor chords to major chords as the entire scene crescendos to where the leader says, "No matter what happens, we're gonna FIGHT LIKE HELL!"

The crowd goes wild, and our heroes go off to battle and victory. A call rallied them for ferocity and strength.

There is a different phrase we could use. It's not as marketable as "Fight like Hell," but I think it has the power to make a difference. Let's try "Let's fight like Heaven."

The first version intends to rain down hellfire with machine guns, the other side serves with mops, towels, pots, and pans. One approach intends to end a battle by might, and the other side comes to serve.

Consider the people in your life for a moment. Who were the ones that changed your life? Who helped you become the person you are today? Do you love them because they beat you into submission? Do you respect them for winning our every argument? Do you admire strength used only for self-interest? I don't. I remember those who helped me, were generous with me, and those who helped me see my strengths. The leaders I admire most are the ones who made room for me at the tables I probably wasn't worthy to sit. They fought like heaven for me. I hope to do likewise for others.

Friend, thank you for reading. Now go fight like Heaven.

Go back some bread for somebody!
